Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of ALTShaadi (altshaadi.com), operated by ALTMatrimonial (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a marriage-related introduction process in your jurisdiction. By using ALTShaadi you confirm that the information you provide about yourself is true and that you are using the service for genuine matrimonial purposes.

2. Your account

You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Provide accurate information and keep it current. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are fraudulent, unsafe, or harmful to others.

3. Guardians acting on your behalf

If you invite a guardian (such as a parent, elder, or matchmaker), you authorize them to act within the scope you grant, and you remain responsible for activity on your account. Your own consent decisions always override a guardian’s. If you act as a guardian, you agree to act honestly and only within the scope a candidate has granted you.

4. Acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

  • Create a profile that is fake, impersonates another person, or misrepresents your identity, age, or marital status.
  • Harass, abuse, threaten, defraud, or harm any other user.
  • Attempt to exchange phone numbers, email addresses, social handles, or other contact information before the mutual contact-reveal stage. Circumventing the consent stages is a violation of these Terms.
  • Use the service for any purpose other than genuine matrimonial introductions — including soliciting, advertising, or commercial dating.
  • Scrape, copy, harvest, or redistribute other users’ profiles, photos, or data.
  • Upload unlawful, obscene, hateful, or infringing content, or anyone else’s photos without permission.
  • Interfere with, probe, or attempt to bypass the security or access controls of the service.

5. Consent, photos, and contact reveal

The service is built around staged, mutual consent. Photos are blurred by default and revealed only after both parties agree; revealed photos are watermarked and traceable to the viewer. Sharing or re-distributing another user’s revealed photos or personal details outside the service is strictly prohibited and may be unlawful.

6. Subscriptions and payments

Some features require a paid subscription or credits. Prices and inclusions are shown at the point of purchase. Subscriptions purchased through a mobile app store are billed and managed by that store under its own terms, including auto-renewal and cancellation. Except where required by law or expressly stated, payments are non-refundable. We may change prices prospectively with notice.

7. No guarantee of outcomes

ALTShaadi provides a platform for introductions. We do not guarantee that you will find a match, receive responses, or marry, and we do not independently guarantee the identity, conduct, or intentions of other users. Identity verification, where offered, reduces but does not eliminate risk. Always exercise caution and good judgment.

8. Intellectual property

The service, including its software, design, and content (excluding content you provide), is owned by ALTMatrimonial and its licensors. You retain ownership of the content you submit and grant us a limited license to host, process, and display it solely to operate the service.

9. Privacy

Our handling of your information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

10. Termination and deletion

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms or to protect users and the integrity of the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ALTMatrimonial will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for the conduct of any user, arising from your use of the service.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operating entity, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence. Where required, disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of the operator’s jurisdiction.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email, and the “last updated” date above will reflect the revision. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
